Read More	AYNOR\| William Barney Dawsey, age 93, died surrounded by family, Saturday, Mar. 4, 2006 at his home on Dawsey Road in Aynor. Mr. Dawsey was born Mar. 14, 1912 in the Antioch section of Galivants Ferry, a son of the late Jesse Hill and Uley Graham Dawsey. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Essie Mae Charles Dawsey; and by four brothers and six sisters. Mr. Dawsey was a retired farmer and the former owner/operator of Dawsey's market in Aynor. He was a WW II veteran who served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. in the Pacific Theater in the New Guinea Campaign, the liberation of the Philippines, and the occupation of Japan. In his retirement, he loved gardening, sharing most of its produce with family, friends, and neighbors. He was frequently seen tending his prize Zinnia patch. Mr Dawsey loved his Lord and was very devoted to his service and his church. He was the last charter member of Aynor United Methodist Church. Mr. Dawsey was a loving Christian father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. Mr. Dawsey is survived by three sons, Carlisle Dawsey of Conway, Wayne Dawsey of the home, Franklin Dawsey of New Castle, Colo.; one daughter, Jayne D. Simpkins and her husband, Darrell, of Pine Hurst, N.C.; six grandsons, Heath Dawsey and his wife, Jessica, of Conway, Eddie Dawsey of Conway, Arthur Dawsey of Grand Junction, Colo., Will Dawsey of New Castle, Colo., David Dawsey of Glenwood Springs, Colo., and Adam Simpkins of Sunnyvale, Calif.; one granddaughter, Stephanie Simpkins of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one great-grandson, Haydn Dawsey of Conway; one brother, B. Wofford Dawsey and his wife, Hilda, of Conway and Gastonia, N.C.; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Mar. 7, 2006 at the Aynor United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dennis Mardis officiating and Mr. Dawsey's grandsons serving as pallbearers.
