Description	:	William Bell Owen Funeral services for William Bell Owen,95, retired carpenter and farmer were held this afternoon at the Alexandria Baptist Church Alexandria, Tenn. Burial was in the cemetery here. Mr Owen died Thursday afternoon at the home of his daughter; Mrs Charles B Hayes of Pitts, Avenue in Old Hickory, TN., following an illness of three weeks . Burial was in the cemetery here. Mr Owen died Thursday afternoon at the home of his daughter; Mrs Charles B Hayes of Pitts, Avenue in Old Hickory, TN., following an illness of three weeks . He had been in failing health for several years. A native of Rome Tenn in Smith County he received his education there. He moved to Alexandria in 1910 and was engaged in farming and carpentering there until his retirement. He married 71 years ago to the former Miss Josephine Miles of Rome who died in 1928 . Mr Owen was a member of the Alexandria Baptist Church. Survivors include another daughter Mrs Lum Phillips of Watertown, Tenn., three sons Will Owen of Alexandria, TN., Mr. Ewing Owen of McMinnville, Tenn. and J. B. Owen of Old Hickory; a sister, Mrs Mary Owen of Carthage, Tenn., 22 grandchildren 30 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
