Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday, May 16, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dodge, with Pastor Tom Olson officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery, rural Golden Valley. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. CDT Sunday at Barbot-Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah. Bill was born on Aug. 14, 1915, to Reinhold and Mathilda (Boepple) Allmendinger, in Dodge. He was raised on the farm and attended school in Dodge and Golden Valley. On Sept. 5, 1936, he married Viola Rose (Dot) Pitts at rural Dodge. They farmed south of Dodge until 1968, when they moved to Dodge. In 1978, he retired from farming. After retirement, in 1980, Bill got a job with the Green Thumb program. He worked for the city for 20 years. Bill lived at home in Dodge his entire life. Bill enjoyed horses and anything to do with horses. He had two miniature ponies that he and his son, Lee Ray, broke to drive. For many years they participated in all the local parades with various buggies. He was also involved with the construction of the Dodge Community Hall and drove school bus with a team of horses from 1935 to 1936. Bill and his brother Guy leased the Sloan Mine for a time until it was closed due to water in the mine. He is survived by his two daughters, Gladys Isaak, Richardton, and Eunice Sebastion, Hebron; three sons, Lee Ray, Beulah, Jim (Deb), Hazen, and Dean (Jonita), Wahpeton; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Viola; one son, Guy Allmendinger; three grandchildren, Eugene Isaak, Jesse Strommen, and Lucus Allmendinger; two sons-in-law, Almer Isaak, and Norman Sebastion; three sisters, Irene Grossman, Emma Kust, and Ida Wolff; and two brothers, Edward and Otto Allmendinger.
