He was born May 11, 1936, at Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Lee Herbert and Fern Steveson Grewell. He was raised and educated in Melbourne, graduating from the Melbourne High School in 1954, and Iowa State University in 1959, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Farm Operations. He was married to Char Schlesinger on August 18, 1957 at Mendota, Illinois, and they resided in Marshalltown. He was employed in various fields of Agribusiness for many years, and in 1992 began developing the Westwind Golf Course and Golfview Estates west of Marshalltown. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi at Iowa State University, Psi at Iowa State University, Marshalltown Jaycees, past president of the Marshalltown Evening Lions Club, G.I. Farm Instructor, the Central Christian Church, and was a former member of Elmwood Country Club. He is survived by his wife: Char Grewell of Marshalltown, three sons, Tim Grewell and David Grewell of Marshalltown and Tom Grewell of Memphis, TN; two daughters, Shari Crawford of Altoona, Iowa and Mrs Dan (Judy) Halter of Las Vegas, NV; half-sister, Janette Randall of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his father Lee and one grandson, Conner Michael Grewell. August 31, 1995 State Center Enterprise.
