He married Beverly Kendall on August 25, 1956. Bill attended grade school at Happy Hollow and was a graduate of Catholic Central. He had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Beverly Kendall on August 25, 1956. Bill attended grade school at Happy Hollow and was a graduate of Catholic Central. He had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He had worked at John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring in 1990, and had farmed most of his life west of Ottumwa. Bill was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #888 and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion. Bill’s love and life was family and farming. Surviving are his wife, Beverly; his children, Peggy (Mike) Vint, Mary (Darwin) McCracken, Suzanne (Tim) Orr, Catherine (Mike) Dahl, Deborah Larkin (Tammy Knebel), Dan (Deb) Larkin and Jane Larkin; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie (Chad) Angelino, Graham Huisman, Lindsay (Andrew) Farmer, Grant (Tiffany) McCracken, Jacob and Elizabeth Orr, Matt and Mary Dahl and Daniel and Annie Larkin; three great-grandchildren, Sidnee and Ayla Farmer and Keeley McCracken; two brothers, Pat (Gerri) Larkin and Mike (Lynn) Larkin; a sister-in-law, Lois Larkin. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Andrew Lindsay Farmer; and a brother, Joe Larkin. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Patrick Hilgendorf presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church. Published on December 14, 2015 Ottumwa Courier
