Lucy was born 3 June 1818 and died 1 March 1875 in Patrick County, VA. ***∼William (Buck) Dillon and his wife Lucy, were supposedly buried in this cemetery. This was told to me (Jön-Eric Thomas, Lexington, NC ; their descendant) back around 1983 when I was researching and visiting the area of Rock Castle Gorge. This was called "The Dillon Graveyard". When we first documented the graves here (around 1983), only 8 graves were marked with stones or name markers. There seemed to be another 14 (or more ) unmarked graves. The marked graves are: Edward C. Lee, Martha J. Dillon, Abe M. Dillon, Ada Dillon DeHart, Nancy Dillon Lee, A. Green Dillon, Willie Hurd, Bessie Dillon Hurd (also marked as Bessie Gay Hurd). These are the ONLY marked graves, and many of the others mentioned under this site are not there (to my knowledge). They are related, and of course they may be here. If anyone has evidence or oral family lore about it, please let me know. I was told by a Dillon descendant that the first to be buried there was James M. Dillon (born ca 1840, son of William Jasper Dillon and Harriet H. Weddle, and grandson of William (Buck) Dillon and Lucy Agee). He died of smallpox during the Civil War, ca 1864.
