Harrell, 94, whose life spanned from the horse- drawn era to the technology of today, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 1997 at Royal Vista Care Center in Ellensburg. He was born May 8, 1903 in Thorp, a son of Ed and Julia (Derrick) Harrell. Bill attended school in Thorp and Ellensburg. He and Hazel Kain were married September 25, 1926 in Yakima and together they farmed for many years in the Thorp area. After returning from farming in 1969, Bill continued to care for his horses. Harrell, 94, whose life spanned from the horse- drawn era to the technology of today, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 1997 at Royal Vista Care Center in Ellensburg. He was born May 8, 1903 in Thorp, a son of Ed and Julia (Derrick) Harrell. Bill attended school in Thorp and Ellensburg. He and Hazel Kain were married September 25, 1926 in Yakima and together they farmed for many years in the Thorp area. After returning from farming in 1969, Bill continued to care for his horses. He also spent many hours gardening before moving to Hearthstone Cottage in 1991. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Cattlemen's Association and the American Suffolk Sheep Association. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Hazel Harrell, grandsons, Troy Harrell and Carol and his wife Kathy Harrell, and great grandchildren, Billy and Halee Harrell all of Ellensburg. He was preceded in death by this parents, his wife Hazel, three brothers Arley, Ervan and Claude and one sister Ella Cooke. We will remember Bill's life on Tuesday, July 1, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. at Steard and Williams Chapel in Ellensburg with Pastor Chuck Henney officiating. Concluding service and burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery.
