Hass, 87, of Mechanicsville, died Friday, October 28, 2005, in his home following a long illness. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, Iowa. William C. Hass was born February 10, 1918, in Tipton, the son of William and Hermie (Maurer) Hass. He graduated from Mechanicsville High School. He married and Bondeena Hertha Eggert on March 11, 1939, in Iowa City. Together they farmed near Mechanicsville and raised their family, until moving to town in 1993. He was a past member of the Mechanicsville School Board and the former Patmos Masonic #155 of Mechanicsville, a member of the Fremont Masonic Lodge #616 of Stanwood and a member of the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church. He was a man of humor, love of family and the outdoors. He loved playing cards, gardening, the Hawkeyes, and his dog, Butch. Surviving are his wife, Bondeena; two daughters, Judy (Ray) Linder and Sally Koering, both of Stanwood; three grandchildren, Jeff (Cindy) Linder, Susan Koering, and Amy (Ron) Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Reece and Reagan Linder, and Nolan Jackson; and one brother, Robert Hass of Mechanicsville.
