He came to America in 1880, landing at Erie, Penn., where he stayed one year. He came to Marion in 1881, where he made his home for forty years, and where he died May 5, 1921. He came to America in 1880, landing at Erie, Penn., where he stayed one year. He came to Marion in 1881, where he made his home for forty years, and where he died May 5, 1921. On Feb. 11, 1883, he was united in marriage to Miss Kathrene Pfieffer of Marion. To this union nine children were born, seven daughters and two sons. All are living: Mrs. George Oakley, of Marion; Mrs. Mary Winslow, of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Louise Mann, of Cedar Rapids; Miss Ann Grieshaber of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. H.E. Schelen, of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. John Winslow, of Anamosa; Miss Helen Grieshaber, of St. Paul. Carl and Walter, the two sons are at home. Mr. Grieshaber had four sisters and two brothers. Three sisters and one brother have preceded him in death. He is survivied by one sister, Mrs. Abraham Simmons, and one brother, Mr. Gene Grieshaber, both of Alburnett. Mr. Grieshaber was confirmed in the Lutheran church while in Germany. Funeral services were held at his home Sunday, the Rev. W.J. Trimble officiating, and burial was in the Marion cemetery.
