Since the beginning of his illness he had spent some time in the Northern Pacific Hospital in Glendive. Mr. LaPrath was born Jan. 26, 1887 at Sac City, Iowa, a son of Hans LaPrath. Since the beginning of his illness he had spent some time in the Northern Pacific Hospital in Glendive. Mr. LaPrath was born Jan. 26, 1887 at Sac City, Iowa, a son of Hans LaPrath. In 1893 he moved with his parents to Boyd Co., NE, and in 1911 he moved to Oelrichs, SD. He was married to Marian B. Lockwood at Rapid City, SD on April 15, 1916. In 1920 they moved to Forsyth, and in 1923 he began work for the Northern Pacific Railway. He had previously been engaged in farming. In 1925 he moved to Laurel and worked in the Northern Pacific shops here untill illness forced his retirement. Besides his widow, Mr. Laprath is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Nick Seeberger, Glendive; Mrs. Margaret Griffith, Denver; Miss Eleanor LaPrath, Laurel; two sons, Staff Sgt. Edward LaPrath, now en route from Japan, and Private First Class Wm. C. Laprath, Jr. at Manila awaiting transportation to the United States; four brothers, Herman Laprath, Ree Heights, SD; Charles LaPrath, Andrew and Edward LaPrath, El Monte, CA; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Cassidy, San Diego, CA; Mrs. Eleanore Shelton, Chicago, and Mrs. Margaret Barnes, El Monte, and three grandchildren. A telephone call from Staff Sgt. Edward LaPrath advised his mother that he had arrived in Seattle and is in route home. Requiem mass was celebrated Monday at St. Anthony's Church by Rev. T. O'Shea and burial was in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Pall bearers were P.J. Dixon, Ross Green, Henry Strending, B.J. Kiedrwoski, Ned Murphy and Peter Thompson. Mr. LaPrath was a former resident of Boyd County and a brother of Mrs. Joe Cassidy of Gross.
