Born August 14, 1936, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Clark Champ Biggerstaff and Vivian Lila (Meeks) Biggerstaff. He was a retired agent with Nationwide Insurance with 35 years of service, a member of Cowpens First Baptist Church and served with numerous civic organizations. He was predeceased by four brothers, Robert, Thomas, Talmadge, and Clarence. Visitation was held at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Gregory Dry, Sr. and the Rev. Dean Phillips. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to the American Heart Association, 310-B Bennett Center Drive, Greer, SC 29650; or to Hospice Special Needs Fund, 120 Heywood Avenue, Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
