Funeral services were held Saturday, May 7, at St. John's Catholic Church in Rosholt, SD, with Father Dennis Deis and Father Mike Foltz officiating. Visitation at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt, SD. William Crist Foltz was born to Stephen and Mary (Wemhoff) Foltz in Humphrey, NE, September 25, 1915. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in rural Humphrey. In 1938, Bill came to Rosholt, SD, to help harvest and decided to remain in the community. On November 20, 1940, Bill married Rosella Thomas at St. John's Catholic Church in Rosholt, SD. They lived in Hankinson, ND, for one year before purchasing their farm north of Rosholt, SD. Bill farmed, raised cattle and was a flax straw buyer for Peter J. Schweitzer for many years. Rosella died January 19, 1964. Bill married Angela Wojciechowski November 25, 1966, at St. John's Catholic Church in Rosholt, SD. A member of St. John's Catholic Church, Bill was a church trustee and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was also active in the Rosholt Area Threshermen's Association. Bill enjoyed driving around through the countryside looking at the crops. Survivors include his wife, Angela of Rosholt, SD; three daughters, Joan (Richard) Keenan of Backus, MN, Viola (Robert) Poss of Fergus Falls, MN, and Sylvia (Gordon) Nelson of Coon Rapids, MN; five sons, Myron (Debby) Foltz of Rosholt, SD, Robert (Peggy) Foltz of Rosholt, SD, Daniel Foltz of Rosholt, SD, Richard (Karen) Foltz of Rosholt, SD, and Raymond (JoAnn) Foltz of Rosholt, SD; 18 grandchildren, Kenneth (Brenda) Keenan, Judy (Jeff) Carstensen, Bradley (Carol) Keenan, Brian (Shawn) Poss, Brenda (Mike) Clevenger, Barbara (Ron) Stevens, Breanne Poss, Christopher (Leanne) Foltz, Dawn (Kirk) Navratil, Ryan Foltz, Scott Foltz, Corey Foltz, Lindsey Foltz, Amy (Scott) Holman, Tracy Foltz, Chad (Suzanne) Dalberg, Todd (Melissa) Dalberg, and Tracy Dalberg; 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Eleanor (Ralph) Eisenmeinger of Humphrey, NE. Valeria Foltz of Indiana, Dorothy (Mike) Wessel of Norfolk, NE, and Philamae (Tony) Zabawa of Columbus, NE; and two brothers, Clem (Kathryn) of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Wilfred (Doris) of Rosholt, SD.
