Description	:	William "Bill" Skoog Altoona William "Bill" Dean Skoog, 79, was born May 24, 1935, to Harry and Mabelle Skoog in Genoa, Nebraska. He passed away at Bright Kavanagh Hospice Service on Friday, February 06, 2015. Bill graduated from Newton High School, attended the University of Iowa, and then served in the US Army. He lived in Altoona until moving to Valley View Village four years ago. Bill began his over 40 year career with SuperValu as a grocery bagger in his teens. Read More	William "Bill" Skoog Altoona William "Bill" Dean Skoog, 79, was born May 24, 1935, to Harry and Mabelle Skoog in Genoa, Nebraska. He passed away at Bright Kavanagh Hospice Service on Friday, February 06, 2015. Bill graduated from Newton High School, attended the University of Iowa, and then served in the US Army. He lived in Altoona until moving to Valley View Village four years ago. Bill began his over 40 year career with SuperValu as a grocery bagger in his teens. He continued his service as owner of Bills' SuperValu on Hubbell and retired as a field representative. Bill was a long time member of the Altoona United Methodist Church where he was active in Methodist Men and Top Notchers. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed fishing and cooking. Bill is survived by his daughters; Pam (Dan) Cole and Barb (Rich) Ramos; granddaughter, Marissa Ramos; and a host of other family and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; parents; and sister, Karen "K.K.". Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Altoona United Methodist Church, 602 5th Avenue SW in Altoona, with burial to follow at Altoona Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the church. A service of remembrance will be held at Valley View Village at a later date. The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Valley View Village and to Bright Kavanagh House for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family which will be given to Valley View Village at a later time in William's memory. .
