Description	:	Wm. Disbrow, an Old Soldier, Dies Suddenly With Pneumonia Friday morning, a man who has been a citizen of this city for thirty years, passed away--Wm. Disbrow. He was born 77 years ago last September, in Cambridge, England. He was educated in that country and remained a citizen until he was nineteen when he decided to come to the U.S. For several years he lived in Chicago but did not care for the city so came to Iowa, where he spent the rest of his life. Disbrow, an Old Soldier, Dies Suddenly With Pneumonia Friday morning, a man who has been a citizen of this city for thirty years, passed away--Wm. Disbrow. He was born 77 years ago last September, in Cambridge, England. He was educated in that country and remained a citizen until he was nineteen when he decided to come to the U.S. For several years he lived in Chicago but did not care for the city so came to Iowa, where he spent the rest of his life. At first he lived in Algona. It was there that he married Miss Synthia Watson. About a year later they removed to Spencer. To them three children were born, of whom only survives, Grant Disbrow of Northwood, N.D. Mr. Disbrow was a soldier in the Civil War and fought bravely for his adopted country. After the war he was engaged in the meat business. As a merchant he was honest and reliable. Soon after coming to Spencer he affiliated himself with the Christian church and was always one of its leading members. At one time he was treasurer and trustee and filled his offices worthily. Mr. Disbrow was a man who had many friends who will mourn him and truly sympathize with his wife and son in their great loss. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Christian church, and were conducted by Rev. Wm. Baier. His body was laid in its last resting place, in Riverside cemetery.
