Description	:	1.) WILLIAM LORANCE William Edgar Lorance, son of Jacob H. and Alice Bradford Lorance was born at Dahinda, Ill., July 23, 1874, being at the time of his death, 73 years, 6 months, and 25 days old. On May 29, 1885, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Ellen LaFollette of Dahinda, Ill. To this union were born four sons and one daughter, Harry and Ralph of Lamoni, Mrs. Alma S. WILLIAM LORANCE William Edgar Lorance, son of Jacob H. and Alice Bradford Lorance was born at Dahinda, Ill., July 23, 1874, being at the time of his death, 73 years, 6 months, and 25 days old. On May 29, 1885, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Ellen LaFollette of Dahinda, Ill. To this union were born four sons and one daughter, Harry and Ralph of Lamoni, Mrs. Alma S. Propst, Independence, Mo.; Harley, Missoula, Mont., and Stuart, Deer Ledge, Mont. Mr. Lorance spent the earlier years of his life in the occupation of farming. In 1900 he joined the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and remained ever faithful to his church. He served as deacon and as elder in that organization. Besides the immediate family, he also leaves two sisters, Mrs. George Farquer, of Beardsley, Minn., and Mrs. Stella Dawson, of Gilson, Ill., ten grandchildren, two great-grandsons, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Marsh Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 21, with Elder D. B. Borden, of Independence, Mo., as the officiating minister. CARD OF THANKS We wish to express our deep appreciation to our good neighbors who assisted us in so many ways during the illness of Mr. Lorance, and to those same friends and neighbors who came to our assistance at the time of his death. William Lorance, whose life has been interwoven into the fabric of this community for many years, died at his home Tuesday night and services will be held at the Chapel Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. His death followed an illness of several months. Mr. Lorance and his family came to Lamoni 28 years ago. He held the office of Elder in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ and functioned in that capacity with great earnestness and with a large degree of success. His sphere of influence may not have been beyond the confines of this community, yet by his labors, his kindly influence, and his desire to serve his fellowmen, he contributed something fine which will endure in the memories of the who knew him. Complete arrangements for the service had not been made at press time. A complete obituary will be carried in the Chronicle next week.
