Description	:	William Ed Baker, 67 years old, 734 Washington street, retired, died in his home at 11:55 o'clock Saturday night after a 6 month illness. He formerly was employed as general maintenance man at the Ford Meter Box company, and prior to that was a motorman on the old street car line here. Mr. Baker was born Feb. 27, 1880, in Wabash county the son of John P. and Mary A. (Sloop) Baker, and was married June 17, 1903 to Maude Burkholder. He had been a resident of the city for 45 years. He formerly was employed as general maintenance man at the Ford Meter Box company, and prior to that was a motorman on the old street car line here. Mr. Baker was born Feb. 27, 1880, in Wabash county the son of John P. and Mary A. (Sloop) Baker, and was married June 17, 1903 to Maude Burkholder. He had been a resident of the city for 45 years. Survivors include the widow, one son, Ralph Baker, Logansport; a sister, Mrs. Anna Palmer, Grand Rapids, Mich; three half-sisters, Mrs. Matilda Hobson, Logansport; Mrs. Maggie Kneiley, North Manchester, and Mrs. Ida Maple. Summitville, and two half-brothers, Sam Moore, Wabash, and Frank Baker, Richmond. Two grandchildren also survive. Two daughters preceded him in death. Mr. Baker was a veteran of the Spanish-American war, and belonged to the Macy Overly camp of Spanish War Veterans. He was a member of the Half Acre Christian church. The body was taken to the Hoover-Miner Funeral home, where friends may call. Services will be held in the funeral home at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. Ralston M. Brock, pastor of the First Christian church officiating. Burial will be in Falls cemetery.
