Description	:	William Campbell, 69, of Manhattan, died Friday evening at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. He had been admitted to the hospital earlier Friday afternoon. Campbell was born Feb 26, 1909, in Bozeman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. and Jessie [Snell] Campbell. In 1925, at the age of 16, he went to work in the mines. He came back to Bozeman in 1932, and was married to Winifred Winter at Livingston in 1934. They moved to Manhattan in 1944. Read More	William Campbell, 69, of Manhattan, died Friday evening at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. He had been admitted to the hospital earlier Friday afternoon. Campbell was born Feb 26, 1909, in Bozeman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. and Jessie [Snell] Campbell. In 1925, at the age of 16, he went to work in the mines. He came back to Bozeman in 1932, and was married to Winifred Winter at Livingston in 1934. They moved to Manhattan in 1944. Campbell worked at Montana State Collage and Monarch Lumber Company before going to work at the Ideal Cement Company of Trident. He worked there for over 25 years until his retirement in 1974. Campbell received his schooling in the Bozeman area, attending the Story Mill School and the Upper Bridger School. He was an avid rock collector, hunter, and fisherman. He was also a member of the United Cement Lime and Gypsum Workers Union Local No 239, and was an instructor in the 23rd Armor Division at Fort Knox. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carol Campbell of Manhattan and Mrs Leroy (Rae) Davies of Bozeman; one step-son, William Wallace of the San Jose area in California; three sisters, Mrs Charles (Grace) Winter of Billings, Mrs Louis (DeEtte) Rossow of Whitewood, SD, and a sister Mabel. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Roy Campbell. Funeral Services will be conducted at Dahl Memorial chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m. The body will be taken to Billings for cremation following the services. --Bozeman Daily Chronicle, 18 Feb 1979
