Read More	William E. "Bill" Jeffers Jr., passed away April 1, 2016, in Englewood, Colorado. William E. "Bill" Jeffers Jr. was born in his parent's home in North Platte on Feb. 26, 1930. In the spirit of service, Bill joined the Navy in 1949 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He and his wife, Priscilla, were married on Dec. 26, 1951. Bill graduated from Creighton University in Omaha with a bachelor's degree in accounting. In 1955, with their first three children, he and Priscilla moved to Denver, Colorado. They went on to raise a total of 10 children, Tom, Mark, Tony, Tim, Christine, Matt, Gregory, Jean, Sean and Michelle. He worked for the U.S. General Accounting Office. It required a lot of travel and as Bill says, a lot of honeymoons. Hence, the 10 children. Bill's leadership was evident as he and Priscilla ensured that all 10 children attended St. Louis Catholic School, which was a great source of pride for them both. From Tom through Michelle, the Jeffers had a 25-year span of continued enrollment. He was continually faithful to his family and church throughout his life. He called bingo every Saturday night for many years. He was known as the "golden voice of bingo calling." This golden voice also came out in choir. He also served as lector at Mass, and on St. Vincent House committee. In addition, his leadership was evident as he led Priscilla across the dance floor. Bill brought out the best in people because he never had an unkind word to say about anyone. He retired in 1986. He and Pris took many wonderful trips with friends and family. Bill enjoyed dancing, Westerns, playing cards, being involved with family and the color red. Bill leaves a legacy of 32 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Gertrude E. "Jeff" Olson. Services have taken place in Colorado.
