Pastor Donna Fonner and Reverend Milana Joseph will officiate. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Clearwater Cemetery in Clearwater, Nebraska. William F. “Bill” Goodman, son of William and Dottie (Green) Goodman, was born July 18, 1936, at his parent’s home in Naper, Nebraska. He attended school until the eighth grade. On March 30, 1956, Bill married Udona R. Ellis at Bassett, Nebraska. They were blessed with two children, Deb and Rebecca. On May 27, 1995, Bill was united in marriage to Fern C. (Christiansen) Stacken. Bill worked as a typical farmer, raising cows, pigs, chickens, and sheep. He worked at Morrison Farms and for Joe Hoffman milking cows. Bill also worked at Orchard Dairy, Hobbs Feedlot, Tim Good, Morrill Grain, and Schafer Grain until his health forced his retirement in 1997. Bill enjoyed traveling and among his favorite trips were with his girls to the State Fair, Black Hills, and a trip to Canada. Some of his greatest adventures were Fern teaching him to square dance, a trip to Branson, Missouri, and attending the Tulip Festival. Bill’s favorite times were around his kitchen table with a good game of cards or Dominos being played. (We all knew he cheated, but he was so good at it that we could never catch him!) He liked to have his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren amongst his presence. Bill loved his game shows and westerns, even though the volume had to be turned up quite high! Bill was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton. Bill is survived by his wife, Fern Goodman; daughters, Deb (Mike) Jensen and Rebecca (Rick) Hauf; grandchildren, Jonathan Jensen (Shaun Smith), Ramsey Jensen, Ryan (Britney) Hauf and their children Brayden, Rekaya, Mason, Baylee Jo, Jaidyn, Skylar, and Mataya, and Roeby (Hannah) Hauf and their daughter, Piper; step-daughter, Joy (Drew) Nelson; step-sons, Dwain (Gayle) Stacken, Daryl (Jean) Stacken, and Daren Stacken; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; step-great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Jerry (Janet) Goodman and Don (Letha) Goodman; sister, Donna (Ron) Tompt; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Babcock, Esther Behrens; brother-in-law, Leland (Karen) Christiansen; cousins, nieces, nephews and anyone else that knew Box Car Wille. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Udona in 1993; sisters, Reba Martin, June Hovey, and Opal Chapin; and brother, Roy Goodman.
