Description	:	William F. Carpenter, 76, a Kittitas Valley pioneer, died in his sleep of a heart attack at his home in the Nanum District, Wednesday evening. He had been in poor health for several years. Carpenter had lived in the valley 71 years. His parents, the late Edwin A. and Eva A. Carpenter had lived in the valley 71 years. His parents, the late Edwin A. and Eva A. Carpenter, brought him to the valley in 1884 when he was five years old. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie Carpenter; two sons, Lawrence A. Carpenter of Ellensburg and William E. Carpenter of Seattle; a daughter, Mrs. Harriet Massey of Seattle; two stepchildren, Cecil A. Taylor of Ellensburg and Eloyde M. Stiefel of Seattle and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Evenson Chapel, with Rev. Laurence M. Arksey officiating. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery. Ellensburg Daily Record, June 2, 1955
