Kenny, well known and respected citizen, died suddenly of heart trouble at 7:30 a. m. Thursday October 6, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Dahlem, with whom he made his home since the death of his wife. He was doing certain chores when the attack came and he passed away without apparent warning. Mr. Kenny was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Kenny and he was born in Washington township, Jones County, Iowa, June 16, 1860. During boyhood and manhood years he remained upon the farm which he conducted with frugality and with great industry. He was married February 5, 1902, at Dubuque, to Miss Ellen Hayes, of Albany, N. Y., and three years later, Mar 1, 1905, retired from farming and bought the place now owned by Ivan Dahlem. On January 6, 1926, Mrs. Kenny died. Later he sold his residence and property to Mr. Dahlem but continued to live with the later and family up to the time of his death. Mr. Kenny was an upright and worthy citizen and was, held in high esteem by all who knew him, and his life career was a blameless record of correct living according to the golden rule. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Martin's church. He is survived by the following, nephews and nieces, Mrs. Thomas Evers, of Delhi, Iowa; Mrs. Thomas Houlihan of Ryan, Iowa; Mrs. R. J. McNally, of Cascade; Mrs. M. J. Heartney, of Dos Moines; W. J. Skahill, of Danbury, Iowa; and P. H. Skahill, of Los Angeles, Calif. The funeral services were held Saturday, October 8th, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martin's church and burial took place in the Catholic cemetery, Rev. T. Rooney celebrating the requiem high Mass. The pallbearers were Richard Coyle, A. J. Murray, B. G. Curley, Michael Finn, George Dolphin, J. T. Conlin, Joseph Mullady and Ed. Parker. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were W. J. Skahill, of Danbury; Mrs. M. J. Heartney, of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Houlihan, of Ryan; and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Evers, of Delhi.
