Mr. Goodwin was born on March 5, 1917, in Muscatine, the son of William W. and Nellie Holliday Goodwin. He married Margaret Wheeler on April 12, 1941, in Muscatine. He was a heavy equipment operator for Martin Marietta for more than 30 years. He liked to garden, fish and hunt. He also enjoyed woodworking, dancing and playing Santa Claus. Survivors include his wife; a son, a daughter, five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lawain, an infant sister and an infant daughter.
