Description	:	Willian ‘Bill’ Hull, age 81, of Des Moines and formerly of Boone, died March 13, 2018 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Following his wishes, he has been cremated. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall. A Masonic Service will follow the Memorial Service. Burial of his cremains will be in the Victor Cemetery in Victor at a later date. William Foster Hull, was born in Grinnell, Iowa on July 15, 1936, the son of Merlin and Frances (Sherwood) Hull. He graduated from Victor High School in Victor. In earlier years, Bill was a truck driver for the George A. Rolfes Company and worked for the Goeppinger Farms in Boone. While living in Des Moines, Bill was a school bus driver for the Urbandale School System for 13 years, retiring in September of 2015. Bill enjoyed talking on his side band radio, vegetable gardening, especially corn and tomatoes and canning his produce. In earlier years, he was the ‘Big Gardner’ on KWBG radio and he enjoyed camping with his family. He was a member of the Masons, Mt. Olive Lodge #79 AF & AM of Boone, the Masons, Westgate Adelphic Lodge #509 of Des Moines, and the Za-Ga-Zig Shriner. Bill never knew a stranger and he loved to tell jokes and end his conversations with a joke. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas. Bill is survived by a son, Steve Hull of Elk Grove, Illinois; three daughters, Chris Rasmussen and husband, LeRoy of Nevada, Vicky Lonergan and husband, Tim of Boone, and Rebecca Hull of West Des Moines; two brothers, Bob Hull and wife Bonnie and Dennis Hull and wife, Tammy all of Cedar Rapids; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Schroeder-Reimers Chapel on Saturday, from 8 a.m. until service time. The family will be present starting at noon. In memory of Bill, memorials may be directed to the family.
