Description	:	William Franklin Farrell Sr., 82, of Ottumwa, died at 4:38 p.m. November 16, 2016 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. He was born July 23, 1934 in Ottumwa to George W. and Alberta Marie Parlee Farrell. He married Patricia Ann Lewis on April 3, 1959 and she preceded him in death on July 2, 2015. Bill was a Staff Sergeant 1st Class in the Iowa Army National Guard, and served in the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his children, Cheryl Kent of Ottumwa, Billy (Diane) Farrell of Selma and Debbie Pettit; 6 grandchildren, Amber Babcock, Lynnisa (Brian) Allen, Alicia Farrell, Christina (Denny) Dunkin, Willy Farrell and Mike Sanders; 5 great-grandchildren, Sara Allen, Katie and Jessica Duncan, Tyler and Jacob Sanders; brothers, Charles, John and David Farrell; sister, Alberta Stevens; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Farrell; brothers, Robert and Harry Farrell; half-brother, George Farrell Jr. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with military services conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Friday with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the family.
