The 1850 and 1860 Census indicate he was born in 1836, as does his Iowa death record. His gravestone says he was born in 1839. Thurs. 10 April 1902 -William F. McDonald of this place died at his home Tuesday night April 9, 1902. He was born in Harrison county, Indiana, Jan. 20, 1837, being 65 years 6 months and 19 days of age at the time of his death. He leaves a wife and nine children. His brother, F.M. McDonald of Scotland county, Mo., was at his bed side at the time of his death. His other brothers could not be reached. The funeral took place at his home this morning at 10 o'clock.
