Read More	From the Skidmore News, June 3, 1920, page 1: "Again the Grim Reaper has entered the home and taken out one who seemed so necessary to those who remain behind. After an illness of five weeks duration, death claimed William Franklin Sanders, as a guest and took him from us. He was born in Holt county, Missouri, January 3rd, 1857, and died at his home northwest of Skidmore, May 29th, 1920. He was married to Miss Matilda Vogan, September 14th, 1879. To them were born seven children, four of whom are still living. Years ago death took from them a little son, James, and baby daughter, Ora, whilst only a few months since a daughter, Mrs. Claude Myers, preceded the father through the door whose opening no one hears. He made an open profession of his faith in the Christ in 1892 during a meeting conducted by Rev. Reuben Barrett at King's Grove, and took membership in the Christian Church and has ever lived a life of devotion and consecration. At the time of his death he was a member of the official board of the Christian Church at Skidmore, a position which he had held for a good long time, loved and honored by his brethren. Indeed, this was true of all who knew him. He was a Christian in whom there was no guile. He did not hold malice and ill will toward any, and so far as is known none was held against him. He was loving, patient, thoughtful and self sacrificing as a husband and father. He loved his home, his family, his church, his neighbors and friends and above all his Lord. His work is done. He has gone to his reward. Our loss is his gain. He leaves to mourn his going, the wife of his youth; four daughters, Mesdames Bertha Brown, Alma Neal, Anna Hitchcock and Florence Dawson; four brothers, Tom and George Sanders, of Skidmore, John Sanders, of St. Joseph, and Charles Sanders of Ottawa, Kansas, one sister, Mrs. Jane Vogan of Ottawa, Kansas, a host of friends and neighbors who join in the sorrow of those who are made to mourn. The funeral service was held in the Burr Oak M. E. Church, Monday morning, conducted by Rev. Reubin Barrett, an old time friend and neighbor, and Rev. Hugh McClellan, pastor of the Christian Church of Skidmore. The burial service was under the auspices of Skidmore Lodge No. 586 I. O. O. F. of which the deceased was a loved and honored member."
