Borlaugh officiated and burial was in the McHenry cemetery. Briss, a retired farmer, died of heart disease. He had been in fair health up until the heart attack. He was married to Elsie Hass at Lucca, N.D., in 1905. Mrs Briss died in 1942. Survivors are eight sons and four daughters; Joseph and Perry, Courtenay; William and Edward, Kensal; Clarence and Robert, Glenfield; Harry, McHenry; Charles, Kansas City; Mrs Paul (Amy) Frappier, McHenry; Mrs Ray (Alma) Sharbono and Mrs Paul (Alice) Cody, Carrington; Mrs G. Syverson (Helen), Dunseith. There are two brothers, Fred and Henry Briss, Necedah, Wisconsin, 29 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
