William F. Krieger Dies at His Home Madison Daily Leader, March 21, 1927 Sudden attack of Heart Trouble Takes Owner of Lakeview Nursery. William F. Krieger, founder and owner of the Lakeview nursery, located a short distance southeast of Madison, died suddenly at his home about 10 o’clock last night, the victim of an attack of heart trouble. Mr. Krieger was 54 years old. Apparently he was in his usual state of health yesterday, being in Madison yesterday afternoon, attending to business matters and visiting with his many friends on the streets of the city. Mr. Krieger was born in Germany on October 28, 1872, and came to this country when 16 years of age, remaining in Missouri for a short time before continuing on to Lake county, where he had made his home ever since. He founded the Lakeview nursery about 15 years ago. Mr. Krieger is survived by his wife, eight sons and two daughters. The daughters are Mrs. Art Bohl, living northwest of Madison, and Mrs. John Schober, of Pasadena, Calif. The sons are Irving Krieger, of this city, and Edwin, Herbert, Reuben, Leonard, Waldemar, Lloyd and Vertus Krieger, all of whom live at home. Mr. Krieger also has two brothers, Gust Krieger, of Madison, and Dr. Henry Krieger, of Fullerton, Calif., and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Braese, of Poplar Bluffs, Mo., and Mrs. John Braise, of Ellendale, N.D. He leaves many friends to mourn his passing, including fellow members of the German Baptist church. No definite funeral arrangements have yet been made.
