Clardy, and claimed him as his next victim and bore his spirit to the rest that remains for the people of God. W.F.Clardy was born January 25,1880, and at the time of his death he was twenty-eight years, one month aand five days old. At a revival meeting at Sweetwater Branch Church, he was converted, joined the church and was baptized by Rev H.J. Fowler, and lived a consitant Christain. He was He was a euthusistic,earnest and active Sunday school worker, and in the prayer meeting he was a powerful worker, and was always found in these stated meetings, except providentially prevented, laboring faithfully to promote the cause of Christ and to plant the blood stained banner of Jesus, his Saviour, upon the ramparts of sin and vice and corruption. He was one of the trustees of the church to which he belonged and to his effective efforts through the power and blessings of God is due much of the credit for the upbuilding and growth in grace of the church. He hasd been in feeble health for three or four years and was under the treatment of several doctors. he was able to be up and about his work till amonth or so before the end came. He bore his afflictions with Christain fortitude and as the shades of the evening of life began to gather and grow thicker and thicker around his dying couch his faith on the everlasting promises of God never wavered. And with his lamp trimmed and burning he went out to meet the bridegroom and to make his triumphal entry into that city not made with hands eternal in the heavens. All that a loving wife, a tender mother, affectionate brothers, sisters and friends, and faithful physician could do was done to help him bear his affliction and keep him with for a season. but the icy hand of death could not be stayed; his labors were ended, his work completed and thesummons issed from the court of heaven to come up higher and the rest in the shade of the Great White Throne. His remains were laid to rest in Centenary cemetery where his funeral was preached by Rev W.J. Langston, of the Conway Baptist church to a very large congregation, using thr basis of his remarks John xiii;7. He leaves a wife, three children, a mother, four brothers, two sisters and a host of friends to mourn thier loss. Surely a good man from us is taken, A voice forever stilled.
