Description	:	William ‘Bill' G. Whitson, age 73, formerly of Oxford, passed away May 15, 2011 at the Deer Valley Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Inurnment services will be Thursday, May 26, 2011, at 10:30am in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, with Military Honors. Memorials are to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be sent to [email protected] He was born June 14, 1937 in Winfield, KS to Gerald and Margaret (Muret) Whitson. He was raised and educated in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1956. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp, serving 4 years active and 2 in the reserve. He married Beverly J. Cameron in 1962, they later divorced. He married Donna Steffen May 14, 1975, she passed away in 2009. Bill worked for Boeing, in Wichita as a fork lift operator for a couple of years, then moved to Phoenix where he worked for the Orangewood Retirement Community. He worked there for 20 years, before retiring. He moved back to Oxford in 1991 and had recently moved back to Phoenix. He is survived by Sons: Marty Whitson of Wellington, KS, Derek Whitson of Oxford, KS, and Jason Whitson of Phoenix, AZ. Daughter: Summer Whitson of Springfield, MO. Sisters: Frances Yoder of San Francisco, CA., Phyllis Ryan of Lansing, NY. And Kay Lumbert of Winfield. 11 Grandchildren, 4 Great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Gerald and Margaret, wife Donna Steffen, and daughter Tina Catlin.
