Description	:	William G. "Bill" Streeks, 76, of Gering, formerly of Harrisburg, died Monday, July 28, 2003 at Heritage Health Care Center in Gering. His remains were cremated, and a Memorial Service was scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31 (today) at Grace Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastors Don VanDeraa, Charles Bonds and Ken Boston officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Memorials may be given to the Banner County Fire Department or to the donor's choice. Jolliffe Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. Bill was born April 16, 1927, in Banner County to George and Hazel (Lalley) Streeks. He received his education there and graduated from Banner County High School. After school he farmed in Banner County and later worked for the Banner County Roads Department. He married Glenna Gulick March 26, 1947 in Gering. In 1966 he began servicing oil wells and did that until retiring in 1998. He attended Grace Chapel in Scottsbluff, was a charter member of the Banner County Fire Department, and held a life membership with over fifty years participation in the Knights of Pythias Lodge in Harrisburg. He had been a member of the Scottsbluff Elks Lodge since 1974 and a member of both the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge since 1976. Survivors include: wife Glenna Streeks of Gering; daughters: Beverly and her husband Earl Bailey of Lake Minatare; Sharry Soule of Gering; and Lanette and her husband Ray Richards of Harrisburg; son: Darrel Streeks of Gering; sisters-in-law: Edythe Streeks of Banner County and Myrtle Streeks of Douglas, Wyo.; brother-in-law: Richard Maycumber of Englewood, Colo.; 15 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. His parents, three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
