Parsons, 51, a candidate in the coming June primaries for treasurer for Wapello county, died today at the Ottumwa hospital at 8:20 a.m. Mr. Parsons, an Ottumwan for twenty-three years, lived at 1005 Chester avenue. He was the son of A.K. and Fanny Parsons and was born in Jefferson county April 26, 1885. He was an employe of the Wormhoudt Lumber Co. and a member of the I.O.O.F., No. 129. He was also a member of the Willard Street Methodist Episcopal church of which he had been treasurer for the last thirteen years. Surviving are his wife, Bonnie E., and two daughters, Anna E. and Mary Helen, all at home; his mother, Mrs. A.K. Parsons of Keosauqua; four sisters, Mrs. George Farmer and Mrs. Victor G. Strait both of Keosauqua, Mrs. H.O. Davis of Moulton, and Miss Mamie Parsons of Mount Pleasant, and one brother, George E. Parsons of Cantril. He was preceded in death by his father in 1924 and also two brothers. Friends may call at the Johnson funeral chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements. --------------- “PARSONS SERVICES,” From “Ottumwa Daily Courier,” Friday, May 29, 1936, Page 10: Short funeral services for William G. Parsons, who died Wednesday at the Ottumwa hospital, will be held at the home, 1005 Chester avenue, Sunday at 1:30 p.m., and at 2 p.m. at the Willard Street Methodist Episcopal church, conducted by the Rev. A.P. Keast. Burial will be made in Shaul cemetery. I.O.O.F. lodge No. 129 will have services at the grave. Pallbearers will be Warren Townsend, Elmer A. Bartlett, Paul Caster, Morris Poling, A.L. Bryson and Elmer Ecton. The body will be taken to the residence Saturday morning.
