Jones, 54, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Homer Forbes, 227 South Moore street, Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. He was the son of George and Sarah Jones and was born July 16, 1886, in Davis County. For the last 20 years years he had lived in Ottumwa, the last 15 years of which had been spent in the employ of John Morrell & Co. He was married to Miss Daisy Fisk in 1909. She died February, 1911. He was married to Miss Edna McVey October 14, 1913. She died May 30, 1940. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Beulah Forbes of Ottumwa; son, Leland Jones of Ottumwa; father, George W. Jones of Ottumwa; brother, Clarence G. Jones of Pulman, Wash.; sisters, Mrs. Herman Grinstead of La Junta, Colo., Mrs. Bessie Anderson of Boone and Mrs. Raleigh Creek of Batavia; grandchildren, Robert and Karen Elaine Forbes and Carolyn Jones, all of Ottumwa. Services will be Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Johnson’s funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The casket will be taken from the chapel to the home of Mrs. Forbes, 227 South Moore street, Thursday at 11 a.m.
