On the 1900 Massies Mill, Nelson Co., VA census, I found farmer Jonah Seaman, 70; born Oct 1829; wife of 25 years, Ella, 50, May 1850, had 5 kids, 3 living; son James, 22, Jun 1877; daughter in law of 4 years, Daisy, 20, Jan 1880; sons WILLIE, 18, May 1882 and Elmo, 15, Mar 1885. Also married daughter Rosa Noster, 33, Apr 1867, married 12 years, had 5 kids, all living; grandsons: Gleason (or Glasgon), 10, Dec 1889; Amos, 8, Oct 1891; Ottie, 6, Nov 1893; Burnerd, 4, Jan 1896 and granddaughter Francis, 2, Mar 1898, all VA born. On the 12 Jan 1920 Massies Mill, Nelson Co., VA census, I found farmer W G Seaman, 38; wife Florence M, 33; sons: Alton R, 13; Loren V, 12; Julian M, 8; daughter Maris (or Mari) M, 7 and son Willie G, J., 4, all VA born. On 27 Apr 1942, Willie Gilmer Seaman registered for the World War I draft in Nelson Co., VA (see photo on the right of page 1). Serial #U1039. He resided and worked in Montebello, Nelson Co., VA and was employed by G W Buller in Lexington, VA. He was born 8 May 1882 in Nelson Co., VA and lists his wife as contact, Mrs. F M Seaman. He was 5'7", 160 lbs with blue eyes, bald with gray hair, and a light complexion at age 59. Photo shared by DT.
