The couple had a daughter, Clara Anna Goke, born 29 Oct 1889 in Union Township, Plymouth County, Iowa. Although, the baby girl, Clara, lived, Anna died at childbirth and is buried in the Remsen Cemetery. This lot of 8 plots has only Anna's stone; no others. It is unknown if William is buried beside his first wife. William married a 2nd wife, Mary Amelia Edwards, on 28 Nov 1899 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. Mary was born in 1873 and died in 1937. The little family moved back to Wisconsin. 1905 Wisconsin Date Census, Grant County, Platteville city – William and 2nd wife, Mary: 1. Wm Göke,head, male, age 44, married, born in Wisconsin. Parents born in Wisconsin. Occupation: carpenter. 2. Mary A. , wife, female, age 32, married, born in Illinois; Parents born in Ill and N.H. 3. Clara M. daughter, female, age 16, single, born in Iowa, parents born in Wis- Ill, school 4. Gertrude E, daughter, age 3, single, born in Iowa, parents born in Wis-Ill 5. Helen I. , daughter, age 1, single, born in Wis, parents born in Wis-Ill. William died in 1945 according to a family tree in familysearch.org. No burial place is listed. Until his burial place is found, I am putting him in the Remsen City Cemetery, next to his first wife. I will gladly change if more information is made available. William and Anna's names were found on an old cemetery map in lot 125 of Block 2 West. Clara grew up and married Roy C. Bell on 3 Sep 1912 in King County, Washington, USA. They had at least 3 children: Robert, Elsa and Roy Jr.
