Source: The Crete News, April 17, 1930 ****************** William Gottlieb Kramer was born July 6, 1866 at Obermehnen, Westfahlen, Germany and died July 3, 1931. Had he lived three days longer, he would have reached the age of 65 years. He had been in failing health for a number of years. He came to America in the year of 1881, settling on a farm east of Crete, where he lived until March 1922, since which time he has resided in Kramer. He was married to Lena Pittnauer, April 13, 1890. Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons, William and Henry of Crete; and two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Heitman of Crete, and Mrs. Anna Vorderstrasse of Fairbury; also one sister, Mrs. Mary Scholle of Plymouth. Three sisters have preceded him in death. There are nine grandchildren. Funeral services were largely attended Sunday afternoon at the Kramer Lutheran church, with Rev. Albert Cholcher officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, namely: Fred Siebe, Henry Luecking, William Niemeier, William Knapper, Otto Meirath, and John Wittler. Relatives and friends from a distance attending the funeral were: William Knapper and family; Otto Meirath and family; William Neimeier and children Henry, Herman, Emil, and Martha, all of Plymouth; Fred Siebe and family, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Luecking and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Scholle, all of Jansen; John Wittler and family of DeWitt; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gavka, Beatrice; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hauschildt and Mrs. John Hauschildt, Lincoln; Mrs. Henry Meyer, Fairbury; Miss Mary Meier, Mr. and Mrs. Casper Vorderstrasse and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sellenrich, Mr. and Mrs. John Schlako and Fred Eisner, all of Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Fangmeier and son, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Helber and daughter, and Mrs. C.H. Vorderstrasse of Gilead. Source: The Crete News, July 9, 1931
