Description	:	Funeral services were held at St. Ludger Cemetery Monday afternoon for William M. Guenther, former resident of the Creighton community, who died at a West Point hospital Sept. 20, after a short illness. He was 77 years of age. The Rev. Edgar Wortmann officiated at the burial services. Funeral services were conducted at Monterey, his home, Monday morning. William Guenther was born at St. Charles, Feb. 23, 1873. Edgar Wortmann officiated at the burial services. Funeral services were conducted at Monterey, his home, Monday morning. William Guenther was born at St. Charles, Feb. 23, 1873. He married Anna Koeman in 1896. About 1910 they moved to a farm east of Creighton, living there until about 18 years ago, when they moved to Bloomfield. Eleven children were born to them, nine of whom survive. His wife died while living at Bloomfield and he moved to Bancroft. On June 2, 1939 he married Mrs. Mary Guenther. They made their home at Montery, where he was living until taken to the hospital. Surviving are his wife, Mary; nine children, Herman of Beemer, Mrs. Edwin (Christina) Pavlik of Verdigre, Mrs. Casper (Lavina) Buerman of Creighton, Wendell and Lawrence of White Sulphur Springs, Mont., Mrs. Leonard (Leona) Thelan of Osmond, William Jr. of Edsmond, Wash., John of Bancroft and Mrs. Jim (Adelaide) Hoyer of San Francisco, Calif.; three stepchildren, Frank Guenther of Dodge, Aloysius Guenther of Mexico and Mrs. Julia Ortmeier of St. Charles; 27 grandchildren, three step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Catherine Gentrup and one brother, John, both of West Point.
