Read More	William "Bill" Dougan, age 73 of Iowa Falls, died on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls with burial in the Northlawn Memory Gardens, Iowa Falls. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Thursday at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. William H. Dougan was born on November 29, 1940 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of Horace and Darlene (Riley) Dougan. He grew up in the Iowa Falls/Bradford area. He attended country school, Bradford School and graduated in Iowa Falls with the class of 1959. After graduation he worked at International Harvester until he joined the Air Force and was in Germany and France from 1961-1965. On February 11, 1968 he married Kathleen Ulrich. In April of 1989, they were blessed with a son William H Dougan Jr. who was born prematurely in Rochester, MN and only lived a few days. On May 2, 1984, they were blessed with another son Kody William Dougan. Bill was a very devoted husband and father. He enjoyed and thanked God for every aspect of helping to raise his son. Bill was employed by Farmland, Purina and Bradford Coop before working at Prestressed Concrete in Iowa Falls where he retired from after 40 years. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Bill really enjoyed all of his nieces and nephews as they grew up. He enjoyed bowling tournaments, card clubs and Bible Studies. He and Kody enjoyed fishing outings. Above all, Bill loved the Lord and praised Him for everything. During the lengthy hospitalizations the past three years, he has held strong in his faith. We had people from his hospital stays tell us that his strength in his faith no matter what he was going through had encouraged them. We praise God for every day we had with Bill. Williams is survived by his wife, Kathy of Iowa Falls; a son, Kody of Iowa Falls; three brothers, Ed (Joy) Dougan of Bradford, George (MaryAnn) Dougan of Iowa Falls, and Ted (Lydia) Dougan of Marion; a brother-in-law, Leowen (Grace) Ulrich of Iowa Falls; three sisters-in-law, Bev Ulrich (Mrs. David) of Iowa Falls, Karen Crosser of Iowa Falls, and Carol (Robert) Banner of Iowa Falls; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Jr.; his father and mother-in-law, Emil and Dorothy Ulrich; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Anna Cook; and two brothers-in-law, David Ulrich and Gary Crosser.
