Read More	From Nevada Evening Journal October 7, 1925 (page 5) ECCLES A NATIVE OF NEVADA Was Born Here In 1865 and Died at Ames, Sept. 28, 1925 William H. Eccles, 60, who died so suddenly at the home of his sister, Mrs. C. V. Norris at Ames last week, was a native son of Nevada, having been born in this city April 25, 1865. He was a son of one of the old time families in this part of the county. When he was but a few months old his parents, Wm. and Annie Eccles moved to New York City where they resided for five years, returning to Nevada in March 1870. Here the family made their home for a number of years. When the lad was eleven years of age, the parents moved to a farm near this city. He was interested in farming until 1889 when he entered the employ of the C. and N W railway company. He retired from this work July 19, 1924 on account of ill health having spent about thirty-four years in the employe of the company. He was married to Harriet Danskin Nov. 2, 1887. Their home was at Correctionville, Lake City and for the past twenty-four years at Wall Lake. He was taken suddenly ill Monday morning Sept. 28, at the home of his sister, Mrs. C. V. Norris of Ames, by one brother, J. C. Eccles of Sioux City and by numerous other relatives part of whom are residing in Ames. Mr. Eccles will be remembered for his affectionate disposition and for his love of home. He was interested in the church and sympathetic with it and its work. He did not give outward expression of his religious feelings in the way that many other have done, but those feelings were there. His religious experience did find expression and he had regular habits of prayer. Funeral services were held at the Adams Funeral home in Ames, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. R. M. Shipman pastor of First Methodist church of Ames. The following songs, "Saved by Grace", "God is Love" and "Jesus Lover of My Soul" were sung by Mrs. Clyde Danskin and Mrs. Loyd Lounsberry of Colo accompanied by Mrs. S. B. Goodenow of Colo and the burial took place in the Nevada cemetery.
