Bill was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Defiance, Ohio, to Glen and Esther (Wiseman) Lang. He graduated from Defiance High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Marines from 1943 until 1946. In 1948, he married Mary Ellen Moser, who preceded him in death in 1988. He was also preceded in death by son, Rick, in 1983; brothers, Vic and Rog, and sister, Helen Miller. Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer Wilkins of Madison, Wis., and Jane (Dick) Heinz of Gladstone, Mich., along with two sons, Sam (Cindy) of Union Pier, Mich., and Jack (Stephanie) of Granger, Ind. Bill is also survived by brother, Don, of Sturgis, Mich., and six grandchildren -- Josh Romaker, Jason (Judy) Romaker, Kelly (Lee Cole) Heinz, Kirsten Heinz, Chelsey Lang and Noah Lang, and his beloved dog, Rush. He retired in 1987 from Midwest Emery, Chicago. He was a member of the New Buffalo Yacht Club, American Legion Post 169 New Buffalo, and the National Rifle Association. Bill will be remembered for his sense of humor, his knack for storytelling and as a big Sam Hornish Jr. IRL racing fan. There will be a graveside service at Ayersville Cemetery in Ayersville, Ohio, on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Bill requests to please vote for George W. Bush. Donations may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan, P.O. Box 305, St. Joseph, Mich. 49085, or Hospice at Home Inc., P.O. Box 297, Stevensville, Mich. 49127.
