His death occurred at Mesa, Arizona on October 26, 1980 at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 26 days. He was reared and educated in Central City, Nebraska. On June 1, 1927 he was united in marriage to Frieda May Drawbaugh. To this union four children were born. The McHargues farmed and were large cattle feeders in the Central City vicinity and later near Marquette, until his retirement, when he and his wife moved into Aurora. Then years ago they moved to Mesa, Arizona where they have since resided. One son, Dale Eugene preceded him in death on April 23, 1970, also his parents had preceded him. Bill was an active member and Past Master of Friendship Lodge No. 239 A.F. & A.M. in Chapman, Nebraska; also Past Worthy Patron of Laura May Chapter No. 251 of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the York Rite Masons in Central City; the Scottish Rite and Tehama Temple of the Shrine in Hastings and the Elks Lodge in Grand Island and was associated with the United Methodist Church. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Frieda; one son, Billy Earl McHargue and his wife Marlene of Lincoln; two daughters Romona Mae, the wife of Donald Larson of Castle Rock, Colorado and Nancy Ann, the wife of Clayton Kauffman of Marquette; three brothers, Edward of Central City, Nebraska, Eugene of Roswell, New Mexico and Bernard who resides in Bella Vista, Arkansas; one sister Mrs. LaVerne (Carroll) Christensen of Central City, Nebraska; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and other relatives and many close friends.
