Description	:	William H. Metro, 65, Monterey, Calif., a native of Doniphan and a former resident of Grand Island, died unexpectedly Monday in a hospital at St. Paul. He had been in failing health and with Mrs. Metro was visiting at the home of a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Jacobsen, in St. Paul when he became ill and was taken to the hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Jacobsen Funeral Home at St. Paul, with the Rev. Lowell Hemken officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Dannebrog. Mr. Metro was born July 26, 1898 at Doniphan, a son of Lemual and Jennie Metro. He married Ruth Anderson Jan. 6, 1919, at Grand Island. The couple lived in Grand Island until 1954 when they moved to California. A garage mechanic, Mr. Metro was employed in the service department of Central Chevrolet Company and at Diers Motor Company while in Grand Island. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1285 at Monterey. Survivors include his wife; one son, William Jr. at Monterey; two daughters, Mrs. Wauneta Jacobsen of St. Paul and Mrs. Darlene Klein of Ainsworth; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
