"Bill" Little, Wenatchee business man and resident of the Wenatchee valley 60 years, died in a Wenatchee hospital Saturday morning, January 31, following an illness of one month. He was 78. Mr. Little was born on December 5, 1874, at Preemption, Illinois, coming to Washington in 1892 with his family and homesteading in the Lake Chelan area. "Bill" Little, Wenatchee business man and resident of the Wenatchee valley 60 years, died in a Wenatchee hospital Saturday morning, January 31, following an illness of one month. He was 78. Mr. Little was born on December 5, 1874, at Preemption, Illinois, coming to Washington in 1892 with his family and homesteading in the Lake Chelan area. He attended Tacoma College, now College of Puget Sound, and returned to Wenatchee where he was associated with the firm of Garton and Little in the meat business. In 1912, Mr. Little and Emil Frank merged their interests and formed the Inland Meat Company in which Mr. Little was engaged for many years. On July 18, 1904, Mr. Little was married to Bessie Cummins of Wenatchee, and they have since made their home there. In the days of the volunteer fire department, Mr. Little was an active figure in the front rank of the fire fighters and served as chief of the organization for one year. In 1913 and 1914 he served on the Wenatchee city council. He was twice elected president of the Wenatchee Camber of Commerce, serving thought 1920 and 1921. He was a life member of the Wenatchee Lodge No. 1186. B.P.O.E. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Bessie Little, of Wenatchee; four sons, Leonard Little of Chelan, David Little and C. S. Cummins, both of Seattle, and William Little Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky, one daughter, Mrs. Wallace Downer of Portland; his mother Mrs. Clara Little of Lakeside, two brothers, Francis Little of Wenatchee and Robert Little of Chelan, three sisters, Mrs. Roy Barton, Mrs. Clyde Varney and Mrs. Nellie Emerson, all of Lakeside. Funeral services were conducted from the Jones and Jones Chapel Monday morning, February 2, at 10:30 o'clock with Wenatchee Lodge No. 1186, B.P.O.E. officiating. The Eulogy was presented by Mr. John A. Gellatly. Concluding services and interment followed in the Riverview Cemetery of Chelan. The Rev. Revelle E. Roach officiated.
