Description	:	William Hansen Jr., 81, of Beemer died Monday, May 7, 2012, at Scribner Good Samaritan Center. He was born Nov. 21, 1930, north of Stanton to William Sr. and Ella Marie (Matz) Hansen. He attended and graduated from the eighth grade from Stanton County Rural School District 35, "the Canfield School." He married Estella Hartgrave on Feb. 4, 1952. He was born Nov. 21, 1930, north of Stanton to William Sr. and Ella Marie (Matz) Hansen. He attended and graduated from the eighth grade from Stanton County Rural School District 35, "the Canfield School." He married Estella Hartgrave on Feb. 4, 1952. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on Feb. 26, 1952, and was discharged on Feb. 9, 1954. Upon his discharge, he returned to Stanton, where he farmed and fed cattle. In December 1964, the family moved to Beemer, where he worked as a farm hand for Eddie Doescher. His wife preceded him in death Nov. 15, 2007. He was a 50-year member of Beemer American Legion Post 159. Survivors include: his children, Dorothea Whitley and Willa Dillon, both of Lyons, Bonnie and Doug Waldemar of Washington, Ill., Donna and Randy Danielson of Lincoln, Cathy and Todd Clark of Stanton and William Jon and Laura Hansen of West Point; a sister, Lillian Sondergaard of Grand Island; a brother, Duane Hansen of Stanton; 24 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by two grandsons, three sisters, a brother, two infant sisters and an infant brother. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Minnick Funeral Home in West Point. Burial will be in Stanton Cemetery with military honors.
