Read More	Obituary of William Harding At six o'clock last Friday morning, March 29, 1907, life passed from the body of William Harding, of South Fifth street. Mr. Harding was taken ill over a year ago. About nine months ago he sustained a stroke of paralysis, and for some time his death was looked for at any time. He finally rallied and for some months was able to be about. Three weeks before the end came, he was forced to again make to his bed, suffering from brights disease. His death was therefore not unexpected. William Harding was born April lst, 1830, in Harrison county, Ohio. He was married to Harriet Totman November 25th, 1852, and to this union were born five sons, one of which died in infancy. The four who survive are: Sam of North Fifth street, Mindrad and Lee, east of town, and Benjamin, of Chillicothe. His first wife dying January 23rd, 1890, he married again on December 17th, 1896, his second wife being Mary Hudson. To this union were born a son and a daughter, David and Emma, aged about six and three years respectively. They with their mother are left to mourn his death. Mr. Harding was one of a family of thirteen, of whom two sisters and three brothers survive him. They are as follows: Mrs. Anna Wright, deceased; Jane, who died in infancy; Lewis Harding, sr., of North Fourth street; Wilson, who died in Illinois about four years ago; a twin sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Boggs who died about three years ago; John, who died in Illinois during the Civil war; James, who died years ago; Mrs. Lucy DeMint, of Chestnut, Illinois; Mrs. Sarah Unatz, of Sedgwick county, Kansas; Benjamin, near Rockwell City, Calhoun county; Elijah, who died in infancy; and Calvin, of near Pocahantas, Pocahantas county. Mr. Harding with his first wife came west from Ohio to Illinois in an early day, and about 1865 came to Eddyville, settling on what is known as the Wylie farm, east of town. About ten years ago, after his second marriage, Mr. Harding moved to town, where he has since resided. At the time of his death he lacked but three days of reaching the 77th milestone along life's pathway. Tho funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the late home, Elder B. W. Pettit, of Avery, pastor of the Eddyville Christian church, officiating. The attendance was quite largo. A vast concourse of sorrowing friends followed the remains to their last resting place in Highland cemetery. The pall bearers were the four sons of tho first union and two nephews, Wig and Dell Harding. Having passed many years in this locality, he was well known and highly esteemed by a large circle of friends, all of whom will unite with the Tribune in extending regrets to the bereaved relatives.
