Born July 2, 1925 in Westernport, he was the son of the late Edward Sebastian and Sarah Jane (Wilkinson) Moran. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen (Kenny) Moran; a son, William H. Moran Jr., and three brothers, Richard, James and Charles Moran. Mr. Moran was a United States Army Veteran, having served his country during World War II. He was an owner of Moran Coal Company. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Westernport, and a member of Victory Post 155 American Legion, Westernport. He enjoyed farming and raising horses and Cattle. He leaves behind his children, Rebecca E. Moran and husband Tom Gleason of Swanton; Richard ‘Major’ Moran and wife, Karen of Westernport; Chris Moran and significant other, Rod Bowman of Swanton; Kathleen ‘Pooh” Broadwater and husband Greg of Rawlings; Michael ‘T C’ Moran of Rawlings, and a brother, Donald E. Moran and wife Virginia of Westernport. He is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, his extended family, Beverly Jackson and husband Bob of Thomasville, Georgia, Carolyn Kennedy and husband David of Indiana, and thirteen extended great-grandchildren. Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday December 23, 2015, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Westernport, on Thursday December 24, 2015, at 10 a.m., with Father Edward Hendricks as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, or Warm the Children Fund, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.”
