William “Bill” Harold Wassenberg was born Nov. 11, 1935, at Home City, the son of Harold and Martha Barta Wassenberg. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1954. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force, after serving overseas in Newfoundland, for four years. He married Leota R. Gose May 9, 1957, at Marysville. They lived at Hanover, where he worked for Sedlaceks Furniture. After moving to Marysville, he worked for Ott Electric from 1965 to 2008. He also installed antennas and satellite dishes. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and traveling to visit family. Survivors include his wife; children, William Wassenberg Jr., Marysville, Barb Zimmerling, Marysville, Matthew Wassenberg, Ill., Phillip Wassenberg, Marysville, Curtis Wassenberg, Marysville; brothers, Gus Wassenberg, Sam Wassenberg, Ore., Jim Wassenberg, Florida, Jean Wassenberg, Nev.; sisters, Kathleen Adams, Ore., Diane Oestan, Colo., Ruth Hoffman, Lora Roudybush, both of Abilene; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Robert Wassenberg; and a grandson. A memorial is established in his name and will be designated by the family later. Contributions can be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
