William H. Dickerson, 86, nearly a lifetime resident of Ottumwa, died today at 9:55 a.m. in the home of his son, Weeden Dickerson, 1042 West Sherman street. He was born in Lancaster, Mo., September 18, 1852, the son of James and Elizabeth Dickerson. He had lived in Ottumwa since he was 7 years old. He was a stone mason. He was married May 27, 1875, to Miss Anna Dawson of Ottumwa. She died December 20, 1932. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mabel Raymond of Waterloo, Mrs. Bonnie Gilman, Mrs. Cecil Fuqua and Mrs. Dorothy Pilcher of Ottumwa; five sons, William E. of Chicago, Frank of Minneapolis, Ray E. of Burlington, Weeden S. and Charles H. Of Ottumwa; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. The body is at Johnson's funeral chapel. --------------- Funeral Notice From Ottumwa Daily Courier, September 15, 1939: Short funeral services for William H. Dickerson, 86-year-old resident who died at the home of his son, Weeden Dickerson, 1042 West Sherman street, Thursday, will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the son's home and at 4 p.m. in the Pentecostal church, conducted by the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Albertson, Frank Albertson, Lew Gray, Voil Jacquinot, Tom Hammersley and Wilk Priest.
