Daniel, a native of Pennsylvania, of Scot-Irish parentage, was an iron molder by trade. Mary, of English heritage, was born in Kentucky, where she grew to womanhood and married. On June 16, 1860 (Federal Census) Daniel and Mary McKalip (McKillip) lived in Bourbon, Callaway Co, MO where he farmed. Their post office was in Millersburg. They had personal estate valued at $900. Walther Carothers, Native of Pullman Got Beyond Depth - Body Shipped to Pullman Walter Carothers, 19-year-old son of Andrew Carothers, a pioneer of Pullman, was drowned in the river at Gridley, Calif., Monday, according to telegrams received in Pullman. The two young men left Pullman about two weeks ago, in company with Charles McKillip, for California, and the two were bathing when Carothers, who was unable to swim, went beyond his depth and drowned. The body was recovered and was shipped to Pullman Tuesday. Funeral services will be held here upon arrival of the remains, probably Friday or Saturday. ... The body will arrive in Pullman today and funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church, the Rev. J.G. Law in charge. The remains will be interred in the I.O.O.F. cemetery." ----- On April 2/3, 1930, William and Mary owned a home in Precinct 6, Klickitat Co, WA. He was a grain farmer.
