Obituary for William Henry Cover from the Frederick Post of Wednesday Morning, August 22, 1945: "William H. Cover, of Thurmont, died Tuesday morning at 10:15 o'clock at the Frederick City Hospital to which he had been removed Sunday after having been stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage. He was 74 years, 9 months and 9 days. He was a son of the late David and Anna Mikesell Cover and with the exception of about 20 years in Pennsylvania, spent his entire life at Thurmont. He was a miller by trade and until recently clerked in the Daniel Flory store. He was long an official of the United Brethren Church, serving on the board of trustees at the time of his death. His wife predeceased him by two and a half years. He is survived by a son, Lieutenant Colonel E. Clyde Cover, U. S. A., Washington, D. C.; a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Reightler, Baltimore; a stepdaughter, Miss Cassandra Hesson, Thurmont, with whom he made his home, and a sister, Mrs. William Yingling, Thurmont. The body will rest at the late home on East Main Street today, where friends may call this evening and until time of the funeral, to be held at the home Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock followed by services at the United Brethren Church at 3:30 o'clock, Rev. Ivan G. Naugle, officiating. Interment in adjoining cemetery, Willhide and Creeger, funeral directors."
